UNIT 9 MOTIVATION

UNIT 9 MOTIVATION

From this unit I learnt that motivation is feelings and thoughts that makes us want to continue doing something, and this influences decisions, time and the performance of any goal.
One of the key factors that makes learning successful is motivation, therefore we as future teachers must master the way in which we motivate students. Many factors influence motivation such as usefulness of language, knowing how to reflect the usefulness of language can mark the difference in motivating students to learn and will give them reasons and objectives to achieve a proficient level.
Also, increasing the interest on the target language culture, there are many reasons to learn a culture many people would want to read books, watch movies, be able to travel and get to know different people. In addition, learners must feel confident with their knowledge of the language, so confidence will enrich their motivation and they would feel comfortable of using the target language and that creates a feeling of autonomy and create a free environment for students to feel independent when using English.
I will personalize tasks as much as I can so students will feel identified with the topic and tasks so it has real value and it will be easier to give them more challenging activities.

  1. I agree with you Cristina, culture can be a reason for learning or improving the target language or in social factors like meeting new people.
